Snakes in Suits
by unrestrainedjane
I’m currently devouring Snakes in Suits by Paul Babiak & Robert Hare. I am thoroughly engrossed. Can’t get enough of this subject; it’s fascinating. That’s it for now, back to the book.
I read it a long time ago. Interesting that my psychopath was not a lover, husband, or friend. He was a neighbor that the local authorities deemed to be above the law. Why, I do not know, Chief of Police Shipman told me at one time that he didn’t want to make him mad. Why, what was he afraid of, he is wielding the power with his badge. I have been unable to find a story similar to my psychopaths behavior. The authors could not be more accurate in describing my psycho’s behavior though.
Wow. I lived across the hall from an unmediated paranoid schizophrenic when I was 17, alone, in a bachelor suite. He sometimes slipped incredibly meticulous and nonsensical letters under my door. He’d frequently knock or yell in the hallway. Entirely different from your situation, but I can relate to how invasive it can be to live with an untreated/able, severely mentally ill neighbor.
I’ve heard of this book but haven’t gotten around to reading it yet. Thanks for the remInder. 🙂
